Catchword for “jallad”
Catchword: jallad
Filed Under:
Part of Speechn.
Quotation: Ever wondered where does the Lucknow Municipal Corporation (LMC) disposes off animal carcasses? Well, it could be just anywhere—along a deserted road, a culvert…or even on a lane along the backyard of your house. A peculiar situation seems to have gripped the state capital as scavengers are not able to find a “suitable” site to dispose off the dead animal carcasses. They had been using the banks of Gomti as dumping grounds until the river level rose. “What can we do?,“ asks Chand Mian, a scavenger or jallad in LMC parlance.

Keep in mind that we're interested in terms that are not well-covered in mainstream dictionaries, or not covered at all. A mass of unexamined Google hits counts for nothing, but an early use of the term you've found in a book or periodical is very useful. A term does not have to be new to be recorded here, it merely needs to be worthy of more attention.
